From 1 to 3 September 2026, a member of the ROLE team participated in the 8th ICLARS Conference – 2026, held at the University of Palermo, Italy, under the theme “State Neutrality and Cooperation with Religion: Protecting Freedom of Religion or Belief without Discrimination.”

As part of the conference programme, the ROLE representative contributed to a session devoted to “Conscientious Objection to Military Service and State Neutrality in Times of Conflict”, addressing issues concerning the protection of freedom of religion or belief and the principle of state neutrality in the context of military service and armed conflict.
