Upon the initiative of Democracy Reporting International (DRI) and the European Implementation Network (EIN), the Rule of Law Empowerment (ROLE) Association, together with more than 60 human rights organisations, addressed the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the European Union with a joint request to prioritise the issue of non-implementation of judgments of the European courts. In particular, the signatories called for the inclusion of the persistent non-execution of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) and the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) on the agendas of the General Affairs Council and the Justice and Home Affairs Council.
